What is Corporate Yoga?

Shanthi runs corporate Yoga sessions for staff and management in government departments and private corporations. These sessions are run either at the client's office or at an offsite location. So what is corporate Yoga, and how could it benefit you, your staff and your organisation?

Corporate Yoga, Relaxation and Meditation assists individuals and group personnel by utilizing a practice as simple as correct breathing techniques and “Chair Yoga”, or mat Yoga, in the workplace and following it with mindfulness meditation and awareness techniques that can be practiced in the work place environment and at home to reduce and manage work-rated stress.

There is no question that workplace stress is now higher than it has ever been. People are working longer hours and the competition for their job is at its peak. 

Workplace stress impacts on the health and wellbeing and the attitude of individuals and the people around them as well as the whole organisation in which they work. "Every-body" is affected and gets to suffer the downside of stress in the workplace. Company profits and business success or failure can be measured in how happy and productive people are when they work.

A wise business person once said; At five o’clock in the afternoon my biggest asset walks out the door... my staff. For that staff to remain productive, they need to be relaxed, happy and fit... and this can be delivered in the workplace.

Yoga is a science that consists of ancient theories, observations and principles about the mind and body connection that is now being proven by modern medicine. Substantial research has been conducted to look at the health benefits of Yoga - from the Yoga Postures (Asanas), Yoga Breathing (Pranayama) and Meditation (Bhavana).

The practice of Yoga is natural and beneficial for the Physiological, Psychological, Emotional and Biochemical health and wellness of individuals as well as bringing calmness, tranquility, peace and spiritual wisdom to the practitioner. It is a natural, holistic and positive alternative to chemical therapy. 

Clearly the take-home message is: don't medicate... Meditate!

Meditation helps remove unwanted thoughts, feelings and anxiety - freeing the mind tobe creative, productive, healthy and happy!
